Is Fomo App Safe? What to Check Before You Sign Up With Code DEAL (2026)

If you plan to join Fomo with referral code DEAL through the invite link fomo.family/r/deal, run through this safety checklist first. Fomo is a real app from a real company, FOMO Labs, Inc. Its strong points: it does not hold your funds, and it shows its fee before every trade. Its weak points: no regulator licenses it, trades can’t be undone, and many tokens on it can crash or become impossible to sell.

What should you check, point by point?

Check What applies on Fomo What you can do
Custody Non-custodial wallet; no one at Fomo can move your tokens Guard your login
Sign-in Apple ID or Google account; no seed phrase Turn on two-factor login
Private key Split into shares; you can export it Never share it
Fees Fomo’s fee and the network fee show before you confirm Read both lines
Tokens Labels and warnings; some tokens can’t be sold Check label and liquidity
Perps Leverage, stacked fees, closed to U.S. persons Skip them until you understand them

Who holds your money?

You do. The wallet is non-custodial and built with Privy. Its private key is split into several shares, so no single party, Fomo included, can rebuild it alone. You can export it at any time.

There is no undo button: a confirmed blockchain trade or transfer is final, with no refund if a token drops. (How Fomo keeps your crypto secure)

What protects your account?

With no seed phrase, the Apple ID or Google account you sign in with is the real lock on your wallet. If someone takes it over, your funds are at risk.

Will you see the fee before you confirm?

Yes. The fee summary shows Fomo’s fee, as a rate or as the minimum that applies, and a second line for the network fee. The standard spot fee is 0.50% per trade, or 0.45% with any referral code. Fomo pays gas on Solana only; elsewhere, network fees come on top. Watch two extras: small Solana trades have minimum fees, and some tokens carry a contract fee set by their creator. (Trading fees on Fomo)

Which tokens need extra care?

A blue checkmark means Fomo’s team reviewed a token. It is not a promise about price or safety. Unreviewed tokens show a “be cautious” popup, and tokens with signs of fraud get a warning label. A token may also be impossible to sell if the liquidity was pulled or the creator blocked sales. Tokens that land in your wallet without a purchase are almost always scams. (Protecting yourself from scams)

How risky are perps?

Leverage goes up to 40x on BTC and 10x on most altcoins, and a leveraged position can be closed automatically. Costs stack up: Fomo’s 0.05% at open and at close, Hyperliquid’s fee on the full leveraged position, and hourly funding. Perps are not open to U.S. persons, and a VPN does not change that. (Leverage on perps)

Is Fomo regulated?

No. Fomo’s Terms of Service say no regulator has registered or licensed it, and that it is not an exchange or a broker.

Is code DEAL safe to use?

DEAL is a Fomo username, like every referral code. It changes what you pay, not how your account is secured. Through fomo.family/r/deal you get 10% Off + Fee Cashback, from two different payers:

Traded No code (0.50%) Any code (0.45%) DEAL net (0.39375%)
$1,000 $5.00 $4.50 $3.94
$10,000 $50.00 $45.00 $39.37
$100,000 $500.00 $450.00 $393.75

Spot, standard fee, before network fees. A buy and a later sell are two trades.

Cashback is paid monthly whatever the amount, and weekly at the weekend once the unpaid balance reaches 50 USDC. The code only works at sign-up. Full terms: DEAL cashback terms.

The DEAL code owner earns Fomo’s referral commission and pays half of it back as cashback. Not affiliated with Fomo. Not financial advice.
